Johnny Faa: Gigs

2008 - Played the big room in the Thirsty Turtle, session style, the first hour was a listening program, the second a baudy St. Paddy's Day celebration complete with green alligators and long-necked geese, but no unicorns.

2008/2009 report: We would like to be adopted by the folks in Nazareth. Wonderful people. Exceptional venue. Good food, and we all had a blast. We hope to be invited back to spend more time with them. They have a good think going, and it was impressive how many people came from miles around to participate. Thank you Nazareth.

2008 Report: Talk about incredible food!!! Played for over a hundred well-fed Home Cafe' patrons who visited and listened. Oh...we had twin girls who danced for us much of the night. If you missed this specialty dinner at Home Cafe', be certain not to miss the next one.

Cricket's management and bar staff were great and the beer is tops. We played until the sound check commenced for the band "Oblivious Children" whose sound system is, apparently, so unreliable they check it at two minute intervals beginning three hours before they play. Highlight of the crawl was the savvy folks over at The Spoon, who gave us everything they could - from their attention to Irish language greetings. We'll play for youse any time. 'Come see us.

What a great bunch of students and teachers! The kids were extremely well behaved and attentive. Near the conclusion of our performance Chris had three lovely kids volunteer to learn the 3s and 7s of an irish dance. They did wonderfully well, as Angie and I played a brisk polka. What a nice way to begin the week!

We performed in the gym before a really nice group of students and teachers. The kids were attentive and well behaved. Some of them had already been working on some Irish dance steps. Support staff had the PA all set up and ready to go and the kids asked good questions. Near the end of the performance Chris had the entire room dancing the 3s and 7s, and we hope to be invited back.

Chris and I played for over an hour, talking with our hosts and had a few calls. One of them wanted to more about Frankie Gavin. Stories, tune sets, CD tracks, and live, student, radio. Fun time, even if a little late after a long day.

Well attended. Food was great. Met some very nice folks. A wonderful afternoon.

It was great to see many of the usual faces in the house, as well as some old friends we usually don't see at Sugar Brown's.
